Please help me with the essay:

Williams Supplement:

Imagine yourself in a tutorial at Williams. Of anyone in the world, whom would you choose to be the other student in the class, and why?

As a tutorial at Williams, I believe that my class would be curious, Analytical, and creative. And so it will be critical if I stand with a group of people filled with the desire and will to pursue and excel within Science. I imagine that one of them can be Nicola Tesla, a student who best suited to those skills and surroundings.

I would say that the perfect partner to me is Nicola Tesla, a person who perceives the scientific method as a system of asking questions, making speculations, observing and drawing conclusions. Tesla, as a pioneer classmate, will instruct me in order to better understanding of research. To this end, Tesla who is naturally inquisitive has an advantage, as he will, in a sense, help me to apply the scientific method to what I see and observe with little prompting. As a future physicist, this inclination to ask questions about observations can help me in scientific pursuits, especially when questions lead to further questions and begin opening up new avenues of investigation. Tesla The "mad scientist", renowned for his achievements and showmanship, will be a valuable pillar in a successful future class because he is the kind of curious who conform exactly to scientific approach.

RevtZ, there is a problem with your essay in the sense that the prompt asks you to pick only one other student to be with you in the tutorial class. You have chosen more than one student to be with you in the class. So you need to revise the essay by choosing between the two science greats. Choose the one who best aligns with your purpose and study and whose influence will most likely have the greatest effect upon you.

By choosing only one student, the prompt is asking you to expand upon your discussion by telling them what kind of influence that person will have upon you and how you hope your collaboration might rock the scientific world. This essay is all about your futuristic views in relation to past scientific principles. It is not about inspiration and what you can learn from whom. Although you will surely learn a great deal from all the men you mentioned, I am sure only one of them truly fits your imaginative futuristic view of what you wish to accomplish scientifically. So choose the student who will help you achieve the most in terms of changing the world of science.

There are also grammatical and sentence structures in the essay but we can overlook those for now in favor of developing the proper content of the essay. The words and thoughts will still change as you revise the paper so it is best to leave those corrections and revisions for later. I hope my suggestions help you. Good luck with your new version :-)

RevtZ, I am making a few suggestions below for your consideration :-)

As a tutorial at Williams, I believe that my class would be curious, Analytical, and creative. And so it will be critical if I stand with a group of people filled with the desire and will to pursue and excel within Science. I imagine that one of them can be Nicola Tesla, a student who best suited to those skills and surroundings.

- I envision my tutorial class at Williams to include Nikolai Tesla whose curiosity, analytical mind, and creativity continues to influence the scientific and technological minds of today. I envision my class being at the forefront of scientific excellence at the school and would therefore, include such a great mind as a student who at the time, would also be pursuing an education leading him to future scientific breakthroughs.

- Tesla would be the perfect addition to my class in my opinion because he is a person who has been perceived to have a scientific mind that thrives on asking questions, speculating, observing, and drawing conclusions based upon serious experimentation results. He will be able to assist me in class as I am more reserved in nature and tend to stay in the background during class discussions. So when paired up with the naturally inquisitive Tesla, I am sure to develop my own self confidence when it comes to asking questions and opening new avenues of investigation. He will be "Mad Scientist" that he is and I will be his willing assistant. Together, we will create a new field of science that will not exactly conform to the standard scientific approach.

- Our combined analytical minds will create a boost for our academic careers. While he helps me gain confidence, I will boost him with strong axiom of reasoning in all our undertakings. Thus making us two notable students on campus, gifted with a keen logical sense that can manage to detail a whole process that would eventually lead to the discovery of a new type of electricity (AC). Defending our discovery will help me further shape my reasoning skills that will eventually lead me to become more confident in my own skills and performance in modern Physics.

- Tesla will be more than a classmate to me. He will be a mentor. A confidant and fellow creative mind with whom I will be able to be myself because I will have found a kindred spirit who will not be afraid to take leaps of scientific faith just I would. Together, we could strive to develop the craziest sounding equations and then develop out of the box solutions for it. Together in a tutorial class, we would become unstoppable and usher in a new era of scientific study.

Just a few corrections and maybe a suggestion here and there :-) Don't get me wrong, the paper has developed to the point where you can actually use this already if you want to.

He will be "Mad Scientist" that he is and I will be his willing assistant.

- He will bethe "Mad...

I will boost him with strong axiom of reasoning in all our undertakings.

- I will boost him withmy strong...

to detail a whole process would eventually lead to the discovery of a new

- ... a whole processtha t would eventually...

strongly related with nuclear energy,

- related to nuclear...

As we will make a plan to make nuclear energy as a common use not only in Capital Cities but also overseas in regions where there's a severe energy shortage .

- Our plan will be make nuclear energy cheaper and safer, thus making it more safer, economical and common for household use specially in the regions of the world experiencing energy shortages.

- This speaks of the man that Tesla became. Not Tesla the student. The essay asks you to consider Tesla as a fellow student so this paragraph is misplaced.

Let me just help you clean up this last part of the essay and it will be good to go :-)

- Tesla and I thrive on challenges. If we didn't , we would not be students of science. That said, we would thrive on our friendly competition and continuously challenge each other to achieve higher, bigger, and better things in the scientific field. We will learn from each other because we will constantly share our triumphs and failures with one another, learning from and helping each other every step of the way. We will have a friendship and partnership that will exist long after our graduation. Even if we begin to create new individual professional networks in our field of work, we will always be available to help and lean on each other when needed because of our deeply rooted friendship.Regardless of our future achievements, we would always be, first and foremost, friends and then colleagues.

How does that my version of the closing statement sound to you? Feel free to use any part or all of it if you wish to :-)

is this essay will sound good to admission officers of Williams

I cannot give you a definitive answer in regard to that question. You see, I can only help you construct the essay based upon the prompt that you provided. We have made it the best that it can be, but, that does not mean that it meets all the unspoken or unwritten requirements of the admissions officer. All application essays come with risks. All you can do at this point is review the essay based upon what you know of the requirements of the university and try to ensure that you have met all the qualifications as best as you can.

Will the admissions officer consider this the perfect application? Maybe. Nobody can really be sure. You need to have faith in your written work. Know that you have done your best to represent yourself and your interests as best as you can. The admissions officer knows how to spot and honestly written essay and will give it great thought and consideration. Take the chance and submit this essay. AFTER you have reviewed it one more time. If you feel a strong sense of confidence in your work, then turn it in for consideration.

I wish you the best with your application :-)

I just have made a final essay to fit with the 400 words limit: I guess it is clean . I hope that you make a quick look at this final essay:

I envision my tutorial class at Williams to include Nikolai Tesla whose curiosity, analytical mind, creativity and challenging character continues to influence the scientific and technological minds of today. Including such a great mind as a student will lead us to future scientific breakthroughs.

Tesla would be the perfect addition to my class in my opinion because he is a person who has been perceived to have a scientific mind that thrives on asking questions, speculating, observing, and drawing conclusions based upon serious experimentation results. When paired up with the naturally inquisitive Tesla, I am sure to develop my own self-confidence when it comes to asking pertinent questions and opening new avenues of investigation. Together, we will create a new field of science that will not conform to standard scientific approach.

Our combined analytical minds will create a boost for our academic careers. He will boost me with his strong axiom of reasoning in all our undertakings while giving him persistence and diligence. Thus making us two notable students on campus, gifted with a keen logical sense that can manage to detail a whole process that would eventually lead to the discovery of new nuclear-electricity theories. Our plan will be make nuclear energy cheaper, safer and thus common for household use especially in the regions experiencing energy shortages. Defending our discovery will help me further shape my reasoning skills to perform in modern Physics.

Tesla will be more than a classmate to me. He will be a mentor. A confidant and fellow creative mind with whom I will be able to be myself because I will have found a kindred spirit who will not be afraid to take leaps of scientific faith just I would. Together, we could strive to develop the craziest sounding equations and then develop out-of-the box solutions. Together, we would become unstoppable and usher in a new era of scientific study.

Tesla and I thrive on challenges. If we didn't, we would not be students of science. That said, we would thrive on our friendly competition and continuously challenge each other to achieve higher, bigger, and better things in the scientific field. We will learn from each other because we will constantly share our triumphs and failures with one another, learning from and helping each other every step of the way. We will have a rooted friendship and partnership that will exist long after our graduation.

- just as I would.

Together, wecould strive to develop the craziest sounding equations and then develop out-of-the box solutions. Together, we would become unstoppable and usher in a new era of scientific study.

Williams essay: if anyone in the world could be in your tutorial at Williams, Who?

I'm having issues thinking about this topic in the way that I don't know who I should even write about. I have some people like Ellen that I think are funny and then some writers that I admire. What should I do? Any suggestions??

Thanks

Take a look at the video that Williams has up about this prompt. Then think about the type of school WIlliams is. Williams is a liberal arts college with a strong emphasis on the humanities. They value more liberal arts (Humanities) type statements. With that being said, any type of response needs to play to that angle. - Admissions Advice Online
