Tufts supplement- Why Tufts?

When I visited my counselor at the end of summer to talk about colleges, I told her I wanted a college with a well reputed engineering school, a diverse student body, a campus with a wide range of club I can participate in, located in a convenient location preferably near to a big city. She said, Tufts. Once I visited the website I was convinced that i would love to spend the four years of college there. Tufts seem to me a place which is intellectual and at the same time fun, even tufts traditions like the daily cannon shows creativity. The school of engineering is one of the best in the world. Moreover, tufts' diversity is a huge plus point, in tufts I get to meet people from all over the world concentrated in one place. Another defining reason is that tufts truly cares about international students, it's tough for most of us to adjust to a new setting, so all the help from the university is greatly welcomed. I want to reach new heights with the Tufts community, Tufts can help me become the individual that I aspire to become.

Please help me out with this supplement essay, for an international student it is very tough to write these.

You seem like you need help differentiating between a comma and a semicolon; that's where most of your mistakes come from.

I agree with the person above me. And also, Tufts should be capitalized; it's a proper noun, a name. I think the actual content of your essay is fine albeit a tad bit boring. The people at the admissions office know exactly what Tufts is like. I think what they're looking for is really why is Tufts important to you. Oh, and, it's waayy too long. It clearly says 50-100 words in the prompt and you're nearing 200.

Good luck!

Tufts seem to be a place which is intellectual and at the same time fun, even Tuft's traditions, like the daily cannon, show creativity.---Watch the capitalization. I corrected a few other errors here, too.

I think "intellectual and also fun" probably described college in general... any college should be these things. It's probably important to dig a little deeper and decide what characteristics your ideal school should have based on your SPECIFIC plans for the future.

Try to think of why one intellectual, fun school might be better than another for someone with your specific aspirations. What does Tufts have that other intellectual, fun schools may not have?

:-)
