Hi everyone!
I´m Florian and I was born in Hamburg in 1992. I grew up with my parents and my sister in the rural area of Hamburg. My sister is 21 years old and she is studying biology in Göttingen. Before, she was an au pair in England near Plymouth for one year.
After school in 2010, I did a civilian service for six months and an internship in a nursery also for six months. Since 2011 I have been studying geoscience in Hamburg. Now I´m in the fifth master semester. At the end of October, I gave up my master thesis, so currently I´m preparing the defense of my master thesis. In the next year, I hope to visit the Philippines for gaining some working practice at the International Rice Institute (IRRI). I want to learn how to work in a big institute with people from all over the world. Furthermore, I´d like to improve my speaking skills, travel around the country and meet new people from other cultures.
In spring of this year, I traveled with my (ex) girlfriend in western Europe by train beginning in Madrid to Lisbon, Irun, Paris, Brussels, Groningen and back to Hamburg. The very special experience on this journey was the terroristic attacks in Brussels two days before we arrived Brussels. After we had heard about the horrible attack, we contacted our Airbnb-partner, but we still could visit his apartment. In Brussels, police officers saved every public building. It was a very emotional situation standing in front of thousands of candles near the town hall of Brussels. Despite this experience we enjoyed our journey and I´d like to do a similar journey in northern Europe next year again.
My hobbies are traveling in foreign countries, as I wrote above, running (sometimes around the Alster), meeting friends, hearing music at home and at festivals. I´m also interested in reading books e.g. about nutrition and cooking. I enjoy doing outside fitness activities and circular trainings that's why I ran the Tough Mudder two years ago.
