How did you learn about Lake Forest and why do you believe you are a good fit for our

As I sat down flipping pages of the book "360 best colleges in the US", I met Lake Forest College. It suddenly caught all of my attention and in no time I started to uncover further about LFC. To my surprise one of my good friends is a freshman at LFC and talking to him gave me a good insight to the diversity and the num aspects of LFC. I thoroughly understand and have been drawn to the culture of this institution, the educational mission and especially the social setting of Lake Forest College and this interest would certainly help me make the best use of community. Coming from a UWC,I could contribute and adapt quickly to the spirits of LFC and to the student community.

I know its a pretty bad essay.But, any help would be appreciated.This is just the first draft.

How did you learn about Lake Forest and why do you believe you are a good fit for our community?

Is there any word limit?
If you can put more details, briefly (like a sentence) put why did LFC caught your eyes on the book.
I think colleges like to hear why did their school caught your eyes out of 360 different schools.

Yes,there is a word limit of 500 characters and I have exceeded that.So,I dont know where to cut down and how to be more sprecific.

If you do want to include the name of the book, capitalize it properly:
360 Best Colleges in the US

The material you wrote here does not express anything about your plan for entering a particular professional field... you need a detailed plan. And tell us what makes this school better than other possible schools. I think it is important to read some recent, professional journal articles written by scholars in your chosen field and then rewrite this essay based on your intentions for jumping into the field and making a great contribution. Include some short term goals. Do not use up any space talking about good things your friend said about it. Focus on your plan. :-)
