"Make-up" Stanford Letter to Roommate

I'm not sure if this is too girly/shallow... would really appreciate some feedback :) Thank you so much.

Hey!
Let me introduce myself through one of my obsessions, make-up.
I can't explain why I like make-up so much. It's just beautiful in the same way that poetry or food photography is. I appreciate the golden specks in a rose blush, the way creamy eyeliner slides on the skin, the rich texture of a pigmented eyeshadow. I'm weird that way though, and it's okay, you can tell me so-my friends do all the time.

My make-up bag is relatively simple. I carry concealer because I often have bags under my eyes from little sleep. I also have a lip-gloss in soft salmon, one of my favorite colors. It's just a nice, calm shade, kind of like me. I have a blush in the same color. In this way I'm soft and kind-I don't like when people poke fun at others for their clothes or apparent lack of intelligence or anything similarly transparent. But although I'm good-natured I do have a bold streak. I always wear eyeliner in electric blue or black, and occasionally I'll line my eyebrows so as to look more dramatic.

If you ever need any make-up don't hesitate to ask! I love showing others my passions, and I will positively jump to help you with math, lend you one of my books, or even do your make-up.

Overall, its pretty good, but maybe you should get some help on punctuation and grammar.

Don't start a sentence with but

I like the idea, very unique. Although I think this part, "It's just a nice, calm shade, kind of like me. I have a blush in the same color. In this way I'm soft and kind-" is a little redundant. Also, why do you get little sleep? Maybe just add more depth into answering "why?" questions. Overall, very nice!
