blia08 1 / 3 Jan 7, 2011 #2I'm very experienced in doing monologues since I'm in Theatre, however, I was wondering if you meant you had to write a monologue about the Giver as Jonas? Because writing and performing are two completely different things.

It inspired me to google this: difference between monologue and soliloquyI learned that the difference is this: A monologue is a speech given when others are present, and a soliloquy is a speech given alone... like, talking to oneself.So... go to a scene from the book where the character speaks to others and keeps speaking for a long time. Take inspiration from it, and write a new version of it. Try to give the speech an interesting theme that shows that you have been thoughtful enough to gain a new idea while reading. For ideas about your theme, google this: analysis "the giver":-)
