Throughout my life I have watched my mother help train her clients who aspired to create a business from the ground up. From submitting the application for a business license, to opening bank accounts, then to completing their first business tax return, I observed closely as she aided them to achieve their lifetime dream. While some grow envisioning super powers to be something like high speed, or super strength, the manner in which she worked with numbers seemed to me as a super power in itself. Although arousing my curiosity, it was not plausible to teach a twelve year old how to complete a 1040 personal tax return. However, on my first day of sixth grade Mrs. Swanson, my first Social Studies teacher, placed a 1040EZ form on each desk in the room. While most students moaned when realizing our task at hand, I was finally given the test to see if I had acquired my mother's super powers. Realizing I did not seem to be able to easily emulate her skills, my growing passion to master the knowledge of taxation began flourishing inside of me. Watching my mother work endless hours, and raise two children on her own taught me that regardless how difficult the journey seems, anything is reachable. Everything that is worth value will come with a price to pay; motivation and perseverance will allow me to do what I love. When I finally completed the 1040EZ form, I realized that this was not just an interest it was something I wanted to master and do for the rest of my life. A yearn I possess to consistently learn something new would be fulfilled with this occupation, so the next step was setting a goal college. I began researching colleges with exceptional accounting programs, and I found myself on the University of Florida webpage every time. The challenge of surpassing my competition in applying was my driving force all throughout high school. The passion within me to succeed is the force behind my persistence to attend your University. Upon attendance to any college, I believe every student is given a responsibility to protect the integrity and honor the prestige of said college. My respect and boundless loyalty for your University is what will set me aside from all other applicants. If you accept me as a student in your school, and I surely hope you will, you will benefit by having in your freshman class a motivated, passionate, eager to succeed student who will someday make you as proud to have me as a student as I will be proud to be part of your University.
