'People Who Love Stadiums (PWLS)' - uc prompt - why I want to study economics

While working towards accomplishing my educational goal, I participated in the People Who Love Stadiums (PWLS), the organization that provides an independent assessment of the market, building program, cost, financial, economic impact and funding potential associated with a proposed stadium development in Korea. When I joined the organization, PWLS was working on the Sang-Am World Cup stadium proposal. We studied and summarized the research and analyses to assist the committees of the Sang-Am stadium in making decisions regarding on the potential development in Seoul. We studied the stadium's potential ability to attract concerts and other events. We then developed event and attendance level estimates for the stadium and estimated the revenues and expenses that could result from those levels. Our proposal has been accepted by the stadium committees, and we arranged several major special events each year including concerts, auto and food expositions. The organization recognized that those outward events could bring better services to public and profit to the economy as well. By participated in the organization, I gained accurate understanding of market potential unique to a specific market and project, and learned how to comprehensively evaluate and estimate the unique market demand and potential for each project. The activities and studies I learned from the organization further emphasized my interest in studying economics.

I have learned countless lessons about today's business environment but can confidently say that I have only scratched the surface. I highly anticipate commencing my university life and benefiting from the high standards of teaching and research facilities available at the University of California. I am sure that my urge to excel academically and contribute in all areas of campus life, will help me to adjust amicably in the new environment and assist me to overcome the upcoming challenge.

I think your first sentence should be about the main theme of the essay. It seems like you start abruptly with this bit of information about PWLS.

The last paragraph is great.
