Transfer applicant prompt

What is your intended major? Discuss how your interest in the subject developed and describe any experience you have had in the field - such as volunteer work, internships and employment, participation in student organizations and activities - and what you have gained from your involvement.

Throughout my life, I had always been the person that would listen to the problems of my peers and I would often give advice to them whenever it was needed. A dear friend of mine once jokingly told me that I should be a psychiatrist because of my ability to relate to people so well. Being told that, I took an AP Psychology course in my junior year of high school and realized that Psychology would be the vehicle to my path in life.

Sometime during my junior year of high school, I had to participate in a couple of group counseling sessions because of a research project I had to complete for my Psychology class. During that time, I was able to learn a lot because I was applying what I was learning in my Psychology class. Each of the clients had their own stories and I was privileged to be able to listen to what they were going through in their lives. In one of the sessions, the therapist successfully abolished one of the clients' emotional problems. The look of pure joy that the client had on his face made me realize that this is what I wanted to do. I realized that I wanted to help people overcome whatever problem they might be going through in their lives.

I have always known I would involve myself with things related to the human mind because the subject fascinates me. Seven years ago, I traveled to Japan for about a month. Having almost no knowledge of the Japanese language, it was difficult for me to communicate with the natives. Two years later, I travel to Japan again and find it easier to communicate with the natives. It might've been the few Japanese words and phrases I picked up during my last visit, but I believe that I developed this ability of reading what others wanted to say.

After my second trip to Japan, I began asking myself questions about how this quasi-ability of mine works neurologically and whether it was something special or not. This led to a desire to understand more about the brain. The questions I wanted answered, I rarely found and I think that is what kept pushing me to keep me deeply interested in this topic.

Through these experiences, I realized that I want to continue to question how the human mind functions and eventually find answers. I plan on further questioning the human mind, as I continue to delve into the mysterious yet fascinating subject that is Psychology, so that I will be able to use this knowledge to help others.

*Please help me find any grammatical errors and give me honest feedback :)

I like it. It seems like you are very knowledgeable about psychology. The only thing i would do is explain more ( if you can )
Like how did your trips to japan differ? What did you "read" through ppl's faces? Were their brows furrowed? or something
