Okay, so I can't think of anything so I wrote this out but I feel like it is pretty bad. I have been staring at the computer for 2 hours and can't think of anything!!! I also fear that this essay topic will make me look bad so I am kind of scared to put alot of time into it making it better and then deciding that it would only hurt my chances. Anyway, do you think that this essay has potential, is pretty good, or should I try to think of a different topic? Thank You

- Discuss something you secretly like but pretend not to, or vice versa

As a saxophone player in the band, I have certain responsibilities that I must do for the overall good of the saxophone section. The most important one is to make fun of every other instrument. I don't know who or what started this, but it has become a tradition for the saxophone section. It can be extremely satisfying to compare a bassoon to different pitches of farting or to compare an oboe to a crying baby. We never made fun of the actual people who play the instrument because that would be taking it too far; we only made fun of the actual instruments. This action reinforced the idea that many people already have, that saxophones are the most beautiful instruments in the world. For example, we could be listening to a song in band class, and someone would say "needs more saxophone", and we would all applaud and agree with him.

As opposed to this section mentality, I do not believe that the saxophone is the greatest instrument, nor do I believe that other instruments sound bad. There is stunning beauty in every different instrument in Band, and in the whole world. If I ever revealed these feelings to a saxophone, they would probably just think that I was joking around, being my normal kidding self. I might be able to hide these feeling from others in my band, but I can't hide them from myself. I absolutely love the sound of the oboe when it goes up high, and I really enjoy the bassoons low notes.

I really love this :) You don't have to change this topic at all! Have you reached your word limit? I feel like you should go further when talking about why you feel how you do about the tradition, saxophone and other instruments

Yes, I am right around the word limit, 250 words. Now that I have thought about it more, I do think that it could be good. I think that I will mostly revise my second paragraph. Thank you
