"There may be personal information that you want considered as part of your admissions application. Write an essay describing that information. You might include exceptional hardships, challenges, or opportunities that have shaped or impacted your abilities or academic credentials, personal responsibilities, exceptional achievements or talents, educational goals, or ways in which you might contribute to an institution committed to creating a diverse learning enviroment."

I'm trying to get into University of Texas at San Antonio and am needing some help with revising my essay. I would greatly appreciate it because i'm desperately trying to get into that school. Some help would be great, please and thank you again.

Success, something everyone deserves to have, yet cannot reach because of the obstacles thrown at us in life. We all have the capability to reach our goals; we just need to sacrifice certain things in order for us to really concentrate on those goals. For me my goal was to gain the skills necessary to create beautiful music. As a teenager I was a pretty sociable person, maybe even too sociable. I was never home and always out of the house doing something with my friends. I am very passionate about music and sharing the talent to others. Song writing is one of the biggest influences to my passion in music. To enjoy music to me is actually listening and finding the true meanings of songs that great artists create. I always wanted to create music like my favorite bands did, but the only thing holding me back was my social life. I knew that in order for me to create music was to sacrifice my social life to concentrate my focus on my true passion. Music means a lot to me, it's helped me through troubled times of drug abuse. Listening to the lyrics that they put out in songs would help me gain a sense of euphoria through struggles. I always thought it was far better to learn and experience the sleepers inside of ourselves. It's so simple to forget our capabilities inside of us, and to follow and feel our dreams. Giving up my social life to do what I'm most passionate about gave me some sense of security that I could achieve my goals if I applied myself. It was almost like I was breathing in a new mentality of hard work and lucidity at the same time. Sometimes solitude is bliss and the time you have to get things done help you get serious about life. The only obstacle that was holding me back before was thinking too much about my social life and not what I actually wanted to do in life. We're nothing but hollow vessels in search what makes us alive. We all need to figure out what we truly want to do and pursue it with maximum effort. I had to put my social life on pause if I really wanted to start making music, which actually helped when I stopped hanging out too much. We all need to stop burying our heads in so much doubt because every single person has the chance to achieve success. Do what feels right to you, it's your life and nobody should be holding you back. We all speak in different voices, but let yours be heard. The only way to reach success is to eliminate the vices that are keeping you back. Everyone reaches a moment in their lives when they have to define the great line about themselves. Find true meaning in what you want to do in order to get to your goal. Failing is just a part of life that you need to get past and move on. And I know that failure leaves such a bitter taste in our mouths, but just never give up in that moment suspended in time because it gets better every time you try. So always aim for that goal in your life that you're truly passionate about. Giving up something I enjoyed doing in order to get serious in my life was probably one of the smartest things I have ever done. Now that I have the skills necessary to create music that actually might even get through to people is an achievement that I will always remember. Going through that time in my life helped me gain a sense of knowledge of how to work hard. The new mentality that I gained helped push myself harder at school and at my job. I knew after that experience that anything can be achieved if you really put your mind through it. There will be pitfalls and it won't be easy but if you actually try and try again nothing can stop me. Succeeding in what you really want to do in life will possibly give you the greatest feeling of accomplishment. After this obstacle in my life has been overcome I feel I am ready to persevere through anything life throws at me.
