Topic B: Issue of Importance, Technological advances

Is technology advancing faster than what we could handle? In today's world, society has become accustomed to all the new technology that has been made for us. Our world today isn't the same as it was fifty years ago. This is because technology has advanced tremendously in such a short time. Technological advances have helped us in many ways, such as improving our lifestyles and helping our society in quite a few ways. However a few people are afraid that technology will advance even more, yet slow our society down.

In just a decade, technology has advanced tremendously. We went from dinosaur phones, to small touch screen phones. And from elephant-like televisions, to sixty inch wide televisions that could be hung up on the wall. Our world is capable of doing so many things that couldn't be done fifty years ago. Technology has brought us new equipment that is capable of helping us advance in a fast, yet safe way.

People who use technology the proper way and don't abuse it, can actually say that technology has improved our lifestyles and has made many tasks easier. As a student who wants to major in Architecture, I have noticed that technology will play a huge role in this specific career. This is why I consider the technology as a good thing, unlike others who see it as a negative thing. The reason some people disagree on tech advancing so fast, is because they are afraid that it could slow our society down, by causing people to become a bit lazy. However this only applies to those who abuse it and don't use it the proper way as how it is supposed to be used.

Technology seems to be opening more opportunities for people, and helping us connect to the rest of the world. I could now easily see my family from Mexico within a few minutes, other than having to drive seven hours south. Technology is a wonderful thing, and is capable of providing our world with a better future. It excites me to know how fast tech is advancing, and to think about how it will be in another ten years, excites me even more! Our world will change for the best, and technology will be the reason why it will.

I feel this sounds a bit odd. Why not tell that technology helps us in many ways?

However a fewsome people are afraid that technology will advance even more, yet slow our society down.making the humans become too much dependent on technologically advanced devices that would have many negative impacts on our society.
