Hello. I wrote a supplementary essay for the faculty of Medicine, and I need help with corrections. I know I have bad grammars sometime but that is exactly why I am here. Please be honest and tell me what I need to change in order to make my essay better. Thankyou!

Discuss how your extracurricular activity have prepared you for the BHSc program at the U of C.(250 words max)

I have been a volunteer at the Calgary Zoo for the past summer. As a volunteer, I was able to step behind the scene and interrupt knowledge directly from the zoo keepers. From this job, I learned many new uncommon facts about animals and I wish to learn more when chances come. I was expected to interact with visitors and answer any questions every minute during my shift, and also crowd control was my other task. From this experience, it trained my leadership skill and the ability to react sharply in different situations. Working with children was also a part of my duty, and it requires a significance amount of patience and observance. Such as host Birthday parties, fulfill small children's needs, and connect them with the zoo.

I was not able to attend many extracurricular activities due to my family's financial problems at an earlier age. I learned to look after myself and my parents, and I stepped up to contribute as much as possible. Preparing dinner for myfamily, taking care of grandmother, keeping the house clean and many other tasks were my duties at home. From this life experience, my maturity grew and it brought out my independence at a young age.

BHSc is an extremely challenging program and it requires huge amount of time and contribution in order to be successful. With my strong desire to learn, independence, maturity, leadership skill and willingness to help others; I have what it takes to be a successful biomedical student.
