The maps illustrate changes in the library's layout and design from 1975 to the present. Overall, the library has seen significant development in terms of amenities and space allocation, with the most noticeable being the expansion of shared areas, places for disabled people, and some new infrastructures.
In 1975, the traditional library layout solely focused on displaying books and bookshelves, limiting the amenities for readers. The only way to access the library was through the entrance in the center of the northern side, which was accessible only by stairs. There were two sections for new publications on the top right-hand corner of the entrance, while the left-hand side displayed books and magazines. Five bookshelves were positioned slightly off-center to the left, taking up significant space. Opposite these shelves was the library desk. On the bottom left-hand corner, there were shared areas with bookshelves, while a children's book section occupied the southeast corner. Between these areas, there was a toilet.
At present, the location of the entrance has remained unchanged. However, the accessibility has been greatly improved with the addition of a wheelchair ramp, replacing the new book section next to the entrance. The books and magazines section on the left-hand side has been converted into a place for computer usage. The bookshelves in the west have been removed to make way for a coffee section with two sofas for visitors. One of the most remarkable changes is the relocation of the shared areas to the east, with several chairs and tables. Meanwhile, the southern section of the library, including the book collections and toilet, has remained the same.
