I will be appreciated for any critical response to my Argument writing task:)

"Five years ago, we residents of Morganton voted to keep the publicly owned piece of land known as Scott Woods in a natural, undeveloped state. Our thinking was that, if no shopping centers or houses were built there, Scott Woods would continue to benefit our community as a natural parkland. But now that our town planning committee wants to purchase the land and build a school there, we should reconsider this issue. If the land becomes a school site, no shopping centers or houses can be built there, and substantial acreage would probably be devoted to athletic fields. There would be no better use of land in our community than this, since a large majority of our children participate in sports, and Scott Woods would continue to benefit our community as natural parkland."

The letter addressed to the local newspaper attempts to affect public opinion on using the Scott Woods natural parkland for Morgantown resident's needs. And to be concrete, they want to use there parkland's territory for building a new school and athletic fields. The letter contains doubtful issues. First of all, is the Scott Woods parkland suitable enough to be building yard for new school? Would not that all machines and building technique change the parkland's nature dramatically? Is it economically profitable to spend additional money on building a particular athletic fields near the school?

First, the parkland previously preserved only as untouched region for people's recreation, now is precipitately about to be building area. It is not doubt will cause great damage to the local ecosystems. This means human incursion in this region can be dangerous for particular plants and animals. Some species can extinct, which will be dangerous for sustainability of the whole parkland's ecological system.

It is also worthwhile to consider economical benefits and shortcuts for building a new school in such a region. First of all, it will ask for additional funds for moving trees out, technique transportation costs and most important, since the region of parklands seems to be isolated from the rest of the city it will be hard to provide a new school with proper infrastructure.

Admittedly, this project has no either economical or ecological benefits, even so it might be healthy for pupils to study in natural environment. I suppose, there are another opportunities for the local administration to choose the school's place. It might be slum blocks, which are to be demolished.

You are right, Tomomi. Great job!

I suppose, there are other opportunities for the ...

...to be the building yard for new school?

Some species can become extinct, which will be dangerous for sustainability of the whole parkland's ecological system.

Admittedly, this project has neither economic nor ecological benefits. Even so, it might be healthy for pupils to study in natural environment.

The essay seems to end abruptly. Please add one sentence to the end. Make your opinion clear. With this essay, it is hard to have a strong opinion, because it would be okay to preserve it and it would be okay to use it for a school. This is a difficult one! :-) Keep practicing your English; you are doing well!
