As we all know, tax plays an important role in the running of the state. The function of tax reflects in two aspects, in a country and individuals.
In the state, tax ensures the security. When we are invaded by another country, we need strong army to protect us, and army and weapons cost a lot; when the domestic economy is in depression, the country needs to provide funding for stimulating the economy growing; when somewhere in the country needs to build infrastructure, the country gives money to these projects. And all of these come from the tax.
For individuals, tax provides us with a safety net, which means we never fall into a bad living situation. We have the least-standard money to keep us away from hunger or cold when we are out of work. We have health care and do not be afraid of going to hospital when we are sick. All of these come from the tax.
So I don't agree with people should keep all the money they earn and should not pay taxes to the state.
If a country having no tax, the country will be vulnerable and may be easily assaulted, because she has no weapon to protect herself. Then the country may disappear. When the country's gone, the people don't exist anymore, and the money holding in their hands just useless papers. So we pay tax not just for the state, but also for ourselves, it is the reason why we need to protect the tax policy.

Aside from military expenditure, a country also needs to do A, B and C, even suffering from economy depression. All of these come from the tax.
