Of course, there could be many possible reasons for attending college or university - from doing a degree to experiencing new things, emotions, etc.
Firstly, the main reason for going to university is to get a higher education and to gain knowledge in certain area. For example, a popular belief is that if you do not have a degree, you will not receive the future job and due to fulfilling your dream, you definitely have to go to a college or university and expand their knowledge so that they could be prepared for a career later.
Of course, there are people, who go to university only because their parents made them do it, not because they are concerned about their future or they want to continue their education.
On the other hand, the fun, the parties and the freedom can attract many people. Often they want to go far away from home only for the possibility to be free and to do whatever they want. They are excited not because they are going to learn something new, but because they are meeting new people, experiencing new things.
Going to university or college is an important decision, which we, in specific moment of our life, have to make. Whether we are motivated or not, we should think firstly about our future.
