Summary : History of the Circus
The historical record shows that the circus have existed since the ancient era and become one of the oldest show today. The circus which we know presently still pertain to the ancient Romans where that empire acquainted the circus to the world. The circus maximus performed many shows in large venue for entertaining people. Chariot races, for instance, were the most popular sport, while the other event also held in circus maximus like gladiator fight. The modern circus appeared for the first time in England. By the end of 1700s, Philip Astley, an Englishman, had held the first modern circus, while he exhibited a spectacular stunt riding on horse back. Then, Philip also showed the other entertainments like clowns, acrobatics and trained animal shows. In the early 1800s, the popularity of circus started to emerge in United State. Joshua Brown founded the circus tent in 1825 and utilized it to travel around city to city. What we know as a circus today is adapted from brown's circus.

-The historical record shows that the circus have existed (it is better to use perfect continuous tense, since it has impact until now: the circus has been existing) since the ancient era. Use has instead of have, since the subject is singular.
- The flow of your writing is also confusing
