As a matter of fact, I really enjoy reading and I was used to reading in my spare times since my childhood. Reading always can help me to be more relaxed and to decrease my daily stresses. Since different people have different taste, there are many options which we can choose to read such as historical books, novels, medical books, short stories and many other subjects. Besides that I believe that all kinds of reading have their own merits, I strongly prefer to read historical books for some reasons.
First, I believe history is very good teacher for mankind. People can learn many things from history. By reading history we can use others experiences effortlessly. History can show us the right way which we should choose to be successful. We can find others wrong decisions and faults to avoid using them in our life.
Second, I found true stories of history very amazing and I believe it is one of the most enjoyable entertainments because when you read history, you are sure that it happened in real life and it is not lie or kind of fiction.
Last but not least, by reading history we can know our self, our nationality and our ancestors in the most effective way. History has this capacity to depict traditions to new generation and pass it to following generations and it helps us to remember that the only thing which always remains in human's minds is to act honestly with other people.
To make a long story short, among all subjects for reading, my preference is history because I can learn the right way of life by reading it and it also can help me to have an exciting times.

I think you should omit this sentence. When writing an essay, you shouldn't directly answer the prompt in the first sentence. Maybe start with instead "Ever since I was a child, I enjoyed reading and read at every chance I could." Something like that.
