IELTS: Hydroelectric dam and turbine

The diagram illustrates the process of hydroelectric dam. Hydroelectric dam was used for power electricity. Electricity is very important things for human life.

Hydroelectric dam was installed in the bottom of river. To take advantage of turbine in the river to produce the power for electricity. The power of turbine was saved in generator. Hydroelectric dam divided into three main compositions such as reservoir storing water, power house generating electricity and power lines transmitting power over long distances to where it can be used.

In the bottom of river was installed hydroelectric. In hydroelectric there is an intake. Function of intake for taken water from reservoir into penstock. Then, from penstock water flows to turbine. The power of turbine spins in high spin. While turbine spins in high spin the generator catch the power of turbine. And then, the generator saves the power into power house. The power house partly flowed to power lines in long distance.

To conclude, hydroelectric dam take advantage from turbine. The river give contribution for hydroelectric dam to get the electricity.
