All parents should be required to volunteer time to their children's schools.

All parents should be encouraged to volunteer time to their children's schools. While it is a nice gesture to involve parents in their child's academic world in various ways such as volunteering for fundraisers or even annual events, a requirement is much too strong of a task for parents who have limited time for such activities. Parents should have the opportunity to volunteer for events that fit their availability; they should be included in important events such as graduations and parent teacher conferences when necessary, and overall volunteering should be flexible across the board as opposed to imposing a strict requirement.
First, parents should have the option to volunteer time to their children's school. As many parents are busy with workloads and daytime and nighttime jobs, additional time for required volunteering may not be an option. Although, volunteering at their child's school can be beneficial and show support for the child and the direction of their education, so is their home wellbeing. If parents are forced to deduce time allotted for work and other tasks that generate family income to meet volunteer requirements at their child/ren's school, then the family may face unwanted hardship.
Second, parents should not have a requirement to volunteer time to their children's schools because not all children's guardians are their actual parents. Children may be raised by other family members that may be sick, elderly, or even uncomfortable with volunteering their time. As much as this sounds like an excuse, many children are forced to live with family members who are equipped enough to provide them with food and shelter and nothing else. If volunteer work were a requirement, those who are disabled or unwilling to participate may have an affect on the child's social life or even self-esteem. It is a better route to leave volunteer work as a choice so that strife is not created when having to attend an event.
Although it is easily rebutted that having volunteer time as a choice can cause just as many esteem or social issues in the child as having the work required. Choosing not to attend events because of reasons that the child can understand is much better than attending the events and risking causing embarrassment.
Parents should be encouraged to volunteer time to their children's schools as opposed to being required to do so. Some parents may not have the additional time to volunteer while having to work to support the primary needs of their children and some guardians are not the actual parents of some children and may be disabled from attending events or even be uncomfortable with the idea. Parents should be given the option to volunteer time to their children's school.
I like if you concluded this introduction with expressing you opinion rather than opening your essay with the opinion. It's better that you educate the reader about the issue first, by telling the reader about the background of the issue and then express your opinion. It's a more logical and convincing way.
