IELTS; Popular consumer goods reflect the power of advertising;To what extent you agree?

Today, the high sales of popular consumer goods reflect the power of the advertising
and not the real needs of the society in which they are sold.

To what extent do you agree or disagree?

This is ubiquitous that the power of advertising can hypnosis consumer. Some believed the high sales of popular products are effected by the power of advertising. What's worse, which they are sold are not what they are needed. In my personal view, power of advertising has greatly impact on consumer's buying decision when they are shopping.

To begin with, the purpose of organization , to advertise advertisement is to increase product's reputation. However the power of advertising has the ability to influence on consumer's decision making. For an example, most of all consumer, generally, are extremely rational on leveraging on a not advertised commodity. Yet when they face with advertised product, it would lose their scale easily. On the ground of consumers are impressed with the effect of advertisement. Mcdonald is an living example by adopting animation to attract children despite of whether their food is health.

What's more, when customer are in needed in certain commodities, it would associate with advertised product then probably go to buy. Perhaps they are loyal on certain band of product by blindly trust on advertisement. To do this , it could result two reasons. First of all, less understand on character of different product. To be specify, customer do not make a comparison on other product'features and price. Secondly it most likely to cause quality problem, when they know very little on a product.

To be conclude, when consumer confront with similar situation, they should be more rational to judge a product before make a purchase.

I think there is something wrong in expressing personal view but i cant tell. Hope all of you can give a good suggestion.
