WHAT YOUR FAVORITE CLASS AND WHY?
The study of the human mind, body and behavior has been an interest of mine since my early teenage years. Since its introduction in the early 1800's by Wilhelm Wundt, a Germany scientist, psychology has expanded to several different fields. In almost every field of psychology there are four major goals that psychologist follow. First, they have to describe what occurred then explain why it occurred, predict what event is likely to occur next and then try to control the disorder.
Taking a psychology class has enhanced my understanding of the human mind, body, and human behavior. In class we study and learn about several psychotic criminals such as Jeffrey Dahmer and Jack The Ripper. In order for us to understand how and why people become psychotic we first trace back to childhood and search for any evidence that may explain their psychotic actions, thoughts and behaviors. Psychology is used to understand why people suffer from certain disorders and to try and help people over come it.
Psychology teaches people the sign of any emotional and psychological hardship that one might go through. With the skills that I am learning in class I have the ability to help others and try to find the best solutions. An anonymous writer once said its "Better to understand a little than to misunderstand a lot" and that's the main reason why I love going to my psychology class. To me psychology made me a better person in understand differences in people rather then reject them.
