IELTS - Report an island before and after construction

TOPIC: (Cam 9, Test 1 Part 1)
The two maps below show an island, before and after the construction of some tourist facilities. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisions where revelents.

ANSWER:

The two maps illustrate the change of an island over years because of the development for tourism. Overall, the island experienced significant changes with the build of many facilities.

To begin with, the first map describes the land before construction with only trees in the east and the west of the land. The huge land is about 250 metres with the large beach in the west.

Moving on to the second map after construction, we can see a lot of facilities were built in the island. First of all, buildings were raised in two areas of the land. While some mushroom houses are in the centre of the land, the others are near the beach in the west. Footpaths were also constructed around accommodation units for tourist walking and that of western area leads to the beach for swimming. Between two accommodation areas, there are a big restaurant and a reception hall. A vehicle track surrounds the hall and reach to the pier where people can go sailing in the south sea of the island.

In summaries, you need to skim the essesence for writing. So you need to cut down addtitional phrases and words which do not directly cotribute to the idea. You can certainly do away with "To begin with".
