Cancer diagnosis
Cancer is a terrible disease that strikes fear into the hearts of all who hear it and is something we all pray to avoid both for ourselves and our loved ones. However, you may know someone, as I do, who currently has or was diagnosed in the past with the terrible disease. When faced with cancer, in whatever form it has come,we often think the only way to combat it is the first thing that comes to mind which is chemotherapy. Cancer is deadly and often thought of as a death sentene, we need to be able to consider all options both medical and natural when it comes to finding a cure and riding either ourselves or someone we love from this monster sickness.
Cancer can be found in many places throughout the body, from the brain to liver and lungs and to the many cells in our body. Cancer starts off small and can grow to the size of baseballs or softballs even. I have often thought about why cancer can go undetected in the early stages and isn't found until it is often too late. In its early stages it doesn't make someone feel sick imeediately, it can often lie dormant and unnoticed for years.
Cancer feeds off of the everyday things that we put into our body. One of the things it loves most to feed on is sugar. It sits in the body and quietly grows and grows bigger and stronger getting often times too big to cure. When someone is first diagnosed with cancer, one of the first things that a hospital or clinic will do is show them where the cancer in their body is located. In order to show this they hook you up to a machine and inject that part of you body with glucose, which is sugar. Immediately following the injection the cancer lights up like a light bulb and starts to go crazy on the screen. I have often heard it described as plugging in a Christmas tree and seeing the bulbs suddently light up and flash.
I often think about why the cancer would get so active when introduced to the sugar. Why does it become more active than before the injection? I have learned that cancer loves sugar, it feeds off of it and devours it when given the opportunity. When a doctor is sitting with a patient and needs to show them where and how big their cancer is they choose glucose to get fast results. I do not believe this is a coincidence, I think they do it because they know the cancer will be active and start to glow when they inject the glucose.
I believe that doctors and medical professionals everywhere who work in the cancer field all have a similar goal of finding a cure for cancer. I believe those who believe in natural cure methods have the same desire as doctors who use traditional methods to fight cancer. We want to cure cancer, plain and simple. The disagreement comes at the different methods used to fight cancer. I was never introduced to any other methods of fighting cancer until my Father in Law was diagnosed with non hodgkins lymphoma a few years bac,k. When he told my wife and I we were devastated and he was determined to beat it as were we. He then started the process of learning about the steps and process of chemotherapy.
When he first visited the doctor they showed him with the glucose, as I mentioned above, where his cancer was and they then told him his survival rate if he used chemo and his 5 year survival probability. He was then taken to the part of the hospital where cancer pateints were staying while they received chemo treatments. What he saw discouraged him greatly. All patients were very sickly looking with low energy and what looked like a poor state of life. It was so discouraging to him that he concluded he would rather live out whatever time he had left than treat his cancer with chemo and go through what he just witnessed. It was after this experience that he started to search for alternative methods to fighting and beating his cancer. After some research he came across a clinic that preached a strict diet and green juicing to cure cancer.
The Gerson Therapy has been used by many people to cure themselves of cancer. The Gerson institute teaches that the body has the power to cure if itself if we allow it to. The human body is incredible and can do amazing things if we aren't limiting it and restricting it with things we put into our body. Green juicing is raw vegetables that have been cold pressed and all its juices squeezed from it. What they suggest is eliminating all unhealthy foods from you diet and replacing them with green juice. My father in law cut out all sugars from his diet, this included natural sugars and processed sugars. Their belief is that if you starve cancer, by taking away its fuel of sugar, that it will destroy itself and cant grow.
The Gerson Institute doesn't teach that its as easy as not eating sugar and your cancer is cured. To really rid yourself of cancer and keep it away they teach that a lifestyle change is necessary. It requires changing the way you look at food and every food that you eat. What I like the most about choosing a natural method to fight cancer is that it is a change that will last you for the rest of your life. To me, it is a choice that will help keep the cancer away forever. One of the most scary parts about cancer is living with the fear that once you beat it, it could return at any time with just as much if not more power than the first time.
Hearing the words your cancer has gone into remission, is one of the most wonderful things a person could hear that has been battling it. Cancer is unpredictable and chemotherapy isn't a one-time treatment that assures your cancer will go away let alone stay away. I believe that when trying to cure something that originated within the body, it makes sense to cure it from within also. Cleansing your body of toxins and only feeding it healthy foods that promote good health and don't contribute to cancer's cause is the basic message of the Gerson Institute. Natural methods for treating and curing cancer exist. I have seen them put to the test and work in people that are close to me and I have seen first hand just how effective natural methods can be when used over traditional chemotherapy.@cmedwards

I agree that your text is quite well-written in that you were able to integrate being informative with ensuring that your text has the appropriate written tone to it. I would only suggest trying to incorporate writing techniques that will help you elevate the tone of the essay. For instance, try to not repeatedly mention the word cancer too much regardless of the necessity. Try replacing it with adjectives or other forms of words to ensure that you have more dynamism in your text.
Evade lengthy and hefty sentence structures as well. If you do this, you'll be able to curate information with more ease.
