Graduate / Why you are a strong candidate for the Western MFE program? [2]
First time to use EssayForum. Please feel free to point out my mistakes and weakness. Thanks for all comments.
What are your key strengths and how will they help you succeed both in our program and after graduation?
All experiences stem from and shape my unique characteristics - eagerness to learn, commitment, never-say-die mindset. Always keeping trying and sparing no efforts in achieving my goals, I believe I'm the kind of person who will definitely succeed in getting what she wants.
What attracts me the most about finance is how the products we use are molded in the mind - financial capital isn't a physical product, it's an intellectual product. When I started studying economics, I was brought into a world of hedge strategies, financial derivatives, and game theory, where sometimes you can counter a lack of skill with a keener mind - the more I studied strategies and the rules of the world, the more I improved.
Four-year study in economics equipped me with solid theoretical knowledge; various academic projects prepared me research and problem solving capability. The broad subject coverage helped me obtain a comprehensive knowledge base to perform in-depth research and application in the topics offered in MFE program and further career.
Experience with entrepreneurship competition provides me with leadership and the pragmatic habit; Internships in finance field as well as part-time jobs across diverse industries helped me acquire great experience in processing and analyzing data. These will benefit my study because my perspective on current economic trend and sensitivity to changes in financial climate allow me to have a sound judgement and agility when facing complicated cases both in the class and work.
I came from China, a strong socialist country with socioeconomic and cultural types of diversity. Studying tremendous and distinctive economic development of China, I can help to sculpt a class of maximum variety not only in race and culture but also in academic background. Coupled with my sophisticated communication skills and my strong adaptability to do teamwork efficiently under pressure, I will have a pleasant cross-culture conversation with others and enhance their experience more profoundly.
