In 2017 August my organization (MAF Carrefour) has applied a detailed survey through a professional British third-party organization (McKinsey & Company) included several aspects; One aspect was managers' personality recognition, my personality type as per the test was "The Commander - ENTJ Personality", Talking about this among the 16 types of personalities; An ENTJ's primary concern is focusing on managing external circumstances with logic and discipline. Once this has been achieved, intuition and reasoning take effect. Psychologically ENTJs are the most natural leaders among the 16 personality types. This personality type will always relish the opportunity to take charge. ENTJs live in a world of possibilities, often viewing challenges and obstacles great opportunities to push themselves. They have a natural gift for leadership and never shirk from making decisions. Options and ideas will be quickly yet carefully reviewed. ENTJs are "take charge" people who do not like to sit still and allow life to happen around them.
Since I was a primary school pupil until the last year at the college I used to be elected as the class's student representative ending up being the college's students' representative at my last college year.
When I have taken this responsibility I went through many experiences but the one to be shared here is that all the college students which were more than 4000 students wanted to postpone the national final practical exams which already been scheduled one year in advance due to the insecure situation in the city of Mosul during ISIS war, I took the lead and had a speech to the students' audience asking them to assign this to me and I will do the negotiation with the higher management, I have been invited by the higher management to a meeting and I explained to them in a ten minutes speech and I could convince them that they will be taking the full responsibility if any student been hurt and student's safety is the first priority while our plans and schedules for exams come as a secondary priority, by comparison. This was enough to get what more than 4000 students needed.
On June 16th, 2014 around 30,000 people have escaped from the town of Tala'far (North Iraq) to the city of Sinjar due to the war, Same night I communicated with some people and I could get around ten volunteers to secure emergency needs to the families including food, beds and secure places to sleep. Within twenty days in a very fast reaction, I could secure and install more than 8 drinking water tanks, 30 WCs to serve around 10,000 IDPs with water and sanitation needs through personal communications and relations with NGOs.
Moreover, in my workplace, I started as a section manager, and within one year through my high performing and surprising results which were the highest in the country in terms of sales and bottom line I have been promoted to be head of a department being the first local and the youngest who been promoted to this level. In the next six months, I have been the general manager's DOA managing a store of more than 350 employees and capital of more than 3.5 Million USD and currently, I am the second man of the company.
One of the specific targets that I have assigned to my self for 2020 in coordination with my line manager is to give five to seven training sessions to enhance teams' leadership skills which been done by 80% till now.
I truly believe in my leadership and I have the feeling of responsibility towards the circumstances, people, and situations around me also I have the initiative sense to start up and get the things done.
