Writing Feedback / Total world energy consumption and electricity generation - Task 1 - Pie chart [2]

The provided pie charts compare the proportion of energy consumed and electricity generated by different energy sources worldwide for the previous year.

What is most striking when looking at the pie charts is that fossil fuels, which encompass oil, coal, and gas, made up the majority of both energy use and supply of electricity. By contrast, renewable and clean energy accounted for a significantly smaller proportion of the total. Moreover, oil required the largest share of global energy while providing the smallest share of power.

As for conventional fossil fuels, it can be seen that oil constituted roughly a third of energy demand worldwide, which was followed by coal accounting for approximately a fourth of the total. However, while coal provided almost 40% of global electricity, oil's production of electricity was insignificant, being less than 7%. Gas, on the other hand, constituted roughly 20% of both energy use and power generation.

A stark difference is evident in the case of clean and renewable forms of energy, which collectively formed a much smaller share in overall energy use and electricity provision. The electricity production from all resources of clean and renewable energy was more than their energy consumption, with the exception of combustible renewables and wastes, which consumed 10% of global energy while supplying no electricity. Nuclear power consumed roughly 6% of total energy, triple that of hydro, whereas both forms of energy supplied around 15% of total world electricity.

Writing Feedback / Village of Bunborough in the present day and plans for the village in 2024 - Map - Task 1 [2]

The two maps illustrate the Bunborough village now and the proposal for its development in 2024.

Overall, it is expected to see some dramatic transformations in the future, including the introduction of transportation and accommodation facilities. A number of key additions include the construction of a new railway, the creation of new hotels, and the conversion of the fishing port. By contrast, some features are expected to remain unchanged, namely the shops and the beach.

By Autumn 2024, the village of Bunborough will see the construction of a new railroad line, facilitating transportation from the northeast to the southern area of the village. Intersecting with the railway, a new branch road will also be added, connecting the center of the village to the outskirts. While the fishing port will be replaced by the promenade, the adjacent beach will remain intact.

Despite the fact that the number of houses will not change significantly, some houses will be relocated to make way for the railway station. Additionally, two new hotels will be added next to the main road.

THANK YOU SO MUCH!

Writing Feedback / Living away from family home while attending university - Advantages and Disadvantages - Task 2 [2]

In some countries, students live with their family while studying at a university. In other countries, students attend university in another city. Do you think the advantages of living away from family home while attending university outweigh the disadvantages?

It is often of great discussion whether students should stay with their family while pursuing higher education or move to another city to live independently. In my opinion, living away from home during university brings more disadvantages than advantages.

On one hand, many students are in favor of living away from home while attending university due to the fact that they can live on their own, spend their days freely, and not be under their parents' control. By living that lifestyle, they can grow and become more independent individuals. Students living alone are forced to acquire essential life skills, including cooking, cleaning, and taking care of themselves. Moreover, they have the perfect opportunity to learn about money and time management, which is hard to learn when they are back home with their families, as they are often supported financially by their parents.

However, living alone at this age can have many negative impacts on university students. Without parental supervision, they may neglect their studies, focusing on newer and more interesting things university life may bring, namely partying, gaming, and excessive drinking. Lacking mental maturity, it may be challenging for students to make decisions wisely and balance many aspects of their academic and social lives, resulting in a lower quality of living.

In conclusion, the disadvantages of living alone while studying at a university outweigh its advantages. It is dependent on students' ability to prioritize and lead a balanced life that one should decide to live alone or with their parents while attending university.

Thank you so much!
