Scholarship / Creating spaces outside the classroom - Questbridge essay [2]
Consider all of the ways you spend your time outside the classroom, and tell us about the thing that matters to you most and why.
I consider the XXX community a second home, where I feel genuine connections not just through art, but also with the people who make it special. My love for this museum grew; I loved the museum's empathetic nature and its ability to foster flourishing communities in XXX through creative practices.
This summer, I worked at the XXX's summer camp, where I assisted in the kids ' art-making process. I noticed not every child was drawn to paintbrushes and clay. One camper was only interested in playing soccer, and it was all he could talk about. And I encourage him to incorporate his interest into art. I found that kids love art. When they create something they love, they can express their passion and simply be themselves. I got to see the thought process behind children's art and how freely they create. While I was able to help the children grow as young artists, they also helped me realize my passion for helping others. Looking ahead, I want to continue creating spaces where others feel seen and supported, whether through art, mentorship, or simply listening to what inspires them.
