Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing to apply for the MIDE Program. I believe my motivation can be better understood out of my studies and professional experience but most of all, a genuine interest in the development of third world economies and a raising need to take an active role in the strategies to develop them.

I hold a four-year bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the UCA (Universidad Católica Argentina). During my studies, thanks to the UCA exchange program, I had the opportunity to attend to Mannheim Universität. During my 6 months stay in Germany, I got to meet people from all over the world, attend classes from world-class professors and got to know an amazing country. It was a very rewarding time, which gave me a whole new perspective on life and of course on my career.

Back in Argentina, in 2006, while I was finishing my degree, I was selected by "BLABLA" Consulting to take part in new project, the opening a Global Finance Service Center in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Since this was a pilot, it was very interesting project to take part in. As the center was new, I had to deal regularly with unexpected situations, this definitely enhanced my flexibility and my adaptation skills. Plus, it was a great experience to deal with the UK and Germany offices on a daily basis and with excellent professionals from all over the world. I really enjoyed the international aspects of this job. After Accenture I worked in other multinational companies, as you can see in the CV that I enclose, at "STH", and currently, at "ANOTHER".

These professional experiences have been very rewarding and educational. I have learned to deal with several challenges and have deepened my knowledge on the discipline that I've studied. However, I've always been interested in the social aspects of economics and businesses, that is why, after serious consideration and research, I've decided to re- focus my career.

Recently I have immersed myself in the subject, by taking a postgraduate course in Local Development and Social Economics, at FLACSO University. With this course, which ends in November 2011, I plan to deepen my personal and academic knowledge of economic development.

It is my aim to focus my career in this subject; it is my personal mission to motivate sustainable development and optimization of resources in my country, Argentina, as the only way to achieve long-term economic growth. For this reason I am applying to the MA in International and Development Economics at the HTW Berlin, I strongly believe that these studies can help me achieve my goal. The MIDE is a very interesting studies program, with a wide range of courses such as political, economic, social and historic subjects which enrich the program. Moreover, the fact that the MIDE programme is taught at the HTW, a German institution, is very appealing to me. I consider the German development a great example of the effect of good will, determination, hard work and efficiency. I would like to catch some of that spirit, and spread it around once I am back in my country. This factor definitely highlights the MIDE program among others and makes the learning process much more interesting.

Ideally, once I get my MA degree, I would like to return to Argentina to work at an international organization, such as the Inter American Development Bank or the World Bank, or at the local government in the Economic Development Ministry. Furthermore, given my experience in mentoring at "Fundación Impulsar", I've become really attracted to the idea of teaching, so, it would be most appealing to pursue an academic career, teaching at a university.

Based on this, the MIDE is exactly the type of program I would like to join in. Conducting these Master studies and research within the HTW would improve and increase my knowledge and practical experience towards my mission.

Thank you very much for considering my application and I look forward to joining your team.
Yours Sincerely,
