Write a persuasive essay, using research to support your points, on a social or environmental issue. Follow these guidelines:
ˇ A persuasive essay is an opinion essay. It should have an introduction, a body and a conclusion, but it may have more than five paragraphs. The opinion is your own. The research may help you arrive at that opinion, and it should support your opinion. Use the research as "supporting details" in your essay.

ˇ Choose an appropriate title, and include a cover page with your name, date, title, grade and class.
ˇ Double-space your essay. It can be typed or hand-written, but you should submit only a good copy.
ˇ Use information from at least 3 sources. This information can be quoted, paraphrased or borrowed, but the main argument of the essay must be your own.

ˇ Include a bibliography. Use the formatting from the student agenda, p.151, and from the Library handout.
ˇ Carefully proofread your essay, so that it doesn't include grammar or spelling mistakes.
ˇ This essay should be a minimum of 400 words.
