Essays / how should i start a dystopian style story? [3]

hi,
i have to write a short dystopian story but don't know how to start or what kind of structure i should use. i'm use to writing fantasy/romance stories. can vampires fit in?

is this like a review?
if it is i'd start with the plot overview then your opinion, compering it to other books by the same author and then if you'd recommend it. hope this helps - if not - sorry.
