Undergraduate / 'I discuss politics with my friends' - What are you passionate about? [2]

It would be helpful for u to comment and edit my essay.
I'm an international student and I don't speak English very well.

What are you passionate about?
I am passionate about many things in life, from the philosophical nature of life to the technological nature of the world, but I am especially passionate about foreign politics (besides engineering). As a boy, I hated news with the flaming passion. I used to watch professional wrestling while my parents usually interrupted my program just to watch some news as to avoid the trouble "sneaking up from behind without warning." One day, it all happened. While watching the T.V. my parents get the call. Few seconds later they storm into the room. Quickly picking up the remote control, they turbulently switch the channels. When I looked up, I saw my parents holding their hands over their mouths to cover up the utterance of expletives. On the TV, I saw a smoke and moments later a plane crashes into a tall building. I did not know what it was since I was still a typical "empty-headed" kid. I have seen many such scenes in the movies, but this seemed to cause much fear in my parents' eyes. Few hours passed by, the news did not help but loop the video over and over again. Later, parents walked out of the room to their bedroom in an agitation. I heard them discussing the issue in low tone voice.

The next day, while eating the breakfast, we discussed the event that happened yesterday. Parents explained to me that this was a terrorist act on the United States of America. While the nation seemed to be mourning for the loss of its citizens, a new thing happened to me. Not knowing why anyone would declare such act on a different country, I became interested in figuring this out through the sources that were available to me. From then on, I started watching and reading the news.

Even today, I discuss politics with my friends because that is what decides our future and the fate of our children. The politics is a serious issue; this is the reason why it is very appealing to me - the ability to critically discuss the solutions to critical issues that are happening now, as I am writing this answer. I love watching the news. I get informed, I become opinionated, and I get to appreciate life. There's so much action in the political arena that it influences me to be a better citizen.

Undergraduate / 'experiences with various cultures' - Penn State Personal [6]

You mention that u are a captain of ur team? did u include that in other parts of ur application? if u did, I strongly advise u to remove it because they do not want to see the same things over and over again.
