Letters / University [NUS] appeal letter to the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences [2]
Hi,
I have been rejected by the course that I wanted in this school recently. I've been spending hours cracking my head trying to think of ways to convince the school that I will be a candidate of their choice but this is all I can come up with so far. Please give my your opinions on how I should improve this appeal letter, I would really appreciate your help.
Thank you!
While I do acknowledge that my academic results are not comparable to those of students who have met the criteria for admission into the faculty of arts and social sciences in the school, I hope that you will re-consider my application. It was only during my two years of study in junior college that I started developing my interest in the matters of our society. I found myself looking forward to every GP (general paper) lesson, to every new thing my tutor was going to share with us. Whenever we were discussing about issues close to my heart, things that we can really relate to, I will find myself researching more about these issues just wanting to understand more. Hence, I decided to pursue an education along this line, hoping that I will be able to graduate with a degree in the social sciences so that I can make significant contributions to our society in the near future. Therefore, I believe that the best platform for me to do so is to undergo an education in your school. If I am accepted, I am confident that I can excel here and that my past grades are not an obstacle to unleash my potential [is this too exaggerating?]. Thank you for taking time out to read this and I sincerely hope that you will re-consider my application. Once again, thank you.
