Scholarship / Work in Europe; Motivation Letter/Structural Engineering [3]

I am applying one of the master program in erasmus mundus scholarship.
below is my motivation letter. please help me proofread it. feel free to make any comments

This letter serves as my motivation to apply for xxx master programme. I believe this programme is extremely suitable to my academic background, my career plan and my long-standing interest in structure.
My interest in structure has started since a young age, and has only increased since then. Large and complex structures, such as buildings, bridges, and stadiums has always caught my attention when I traveling around. I had a dream that I want to build these things in the future. Today, it seems my dream is getting closer to become reality. Upon completing my bachelor degree in civil engineering at Universitas Indonesia, I went to work as a structural engineer in the multinational structural engineering consultant firm. Working as a structural engineer, gives me opportunity to provide engineering design of various civil structures, something I always dreamed of since childhood.
Through my undergraduate study, I have been introduced with the skills in structural mechanic, reinforced concrete structure design, steel structure design, bridge design, and earthquake resistant structure design. Strong interest in structural engineering ensured my consistent academic performance and I managed to graduate with predicate "very good". The knowledge that I gained during study have been applied to my work as a structural engineer. For over a year becoming a structural engineer, I have experienced in designing reinforced concrete and steel structures such as large retail store, residential, industrial warehouse and mezzanine. In addition to improve my analytical skill, this experience also gave me fundamental insights into structural detailing and practical design.
Even though my undergraduate study and my practical experience has given me strong fundamental in structural engineering, I always feel that it is still not enough for me to be a highly qualified engineer. I still need to learn further in term of structural analysis and design. My country, Indonesia, is vulnerable to earthquake and hence it is a must that the structures are designed to withstand the earthquake force. The conventional approach in analyzing and designing structure under earthquake that I acquired during study, to certain extent, does not appropriate to be used in irregular/complex structure. This may lead to ineffective design or overly conservative design. Considering this reason, I believe that it is a necessity for me to enhance my structural analysis and design skill, which I can get by conducting master study.
xxx master programme presents itself as a great option for advancing my knowledge in structural engineering. The syllabus of the programme that teaches advanced and innovative approach in structural design with practice oriented fits my needs. It consists of interesting course subjects and some of them are rarely taught in other master programmes, such as design of glass structure and design of aluminium and stainless steel structures. In addition, the programme put emphasis on steel structure that will be a good complement to my current knowledge because during undergraduate study, I learned more about concrete structure. Participate in xxx master programme will certainly enhance my structural design skill for both building and non-building structures as well as deepen my understanding of structural behavior under dynamic loadings, not only under earthquake but also under fire and explosion. The knowledge that I will get after participating in xxx master programme will be immensely helpful. It will enhance my career prospect and ensures my readiness to be involved in various and intellectually challenging civil structures.
Apart from technical aspect, participate in xxx master programme would have a positive impact for personal development as I will get a chance to study the foreign culture, the local language, and establish network with people from various nations. Moreover, the scheme of the programme that enables me to study in Belgium, Romania, and one other country is a great attraction. I will have the opportunity to see the landmarks of the city, from modern civil structures to properly preserved heritage buildings, which is good to broaden my engineering perspective.
Following my participation in xxx master programme, I will continue to become a structural engineer. If there is a chance, I would like to stay and work in Europe for a year or so to enrich my practical experience while also seek a good opportunity to do my doctoral study. After that, I plan to return to Indonesia. With the qualification I have, I expect that I will have more opportunities to work on various civil structure and I hope that I can also involve in national infrastructure projects. My goal is within 10 years, I hope I can realize my childhood dream to design monumental structures such as high rise buildings, sport stadiums, and long span bridges.
