Undergraduate / Tennis is my precious partner; Common App/ Extracurricular activity [NEW]
This short essay is for Common Application of 2013 register.The question is "Please briefly elaborate on one of your extracurricular activities or work experiences in the space below (1000 character maximum)." If anyone can help, please give me some advises how to edit this!!! Thank you so much!!!!
Tennis is my precious partner. One phrase in Japanese, "Ikkyuu nyuukon" is usually interpreted as one pitch of concentration in baseball games whereas I grasp the meaning of this term through playing tennis. This makes me realize the importance of the accumulation of small efforts. For me, tennis is a sport which clarifies how to endeavor things I face in my life, pleasure to aim the same goal with mates, and objects I should thank for. I have realized it through lasting practice since 7th grade that the process of reaching perfection in tennis are very similar in any situations. Being in varsity team as an international student in the USA, I felt linguistic barriers could be broken by sharing the same goal. During playing tennis, a smile always breaks out on my face because it inspires me to thank for every surroundings and situations including coaches, teammates, parents, my instruments, tennis courts, each single tennis ball and being on a court. For three aspects above, tennis is my companion.
