Writing Feedback / "I believe in our universe, everything we see and believe, is nothing more than a dream" [2]

I had to write an "I Believe" essay. It could be about anything i chose.

I believe our universe, everything we see and believe, is nothing more than a dream. A vivid illusion where time and space are two factors which we use to measure ourselves, to find validation and significance; making it easier to accept as reality. Every moment of existence is spent having thoughts either of the past or the future. Thoughts of yesterday, where are they now? Are they gone? They are nothing more than a memory, yet still alive and real in my mind. Tomorrow has not come to pass; yet we envision what will happen next. We make plans and we see events as we expect them to be. Our consciousness lingers between both, and this is what we call the present; that moment between what was and what shall be, all part of a never ending dream.

Reality is simply a concept in which we create a mental picture of how we live life. For instance, consider the colors in a painting. I often wonder how other people see colors compared to how I see them. Perhaps the hues I see are brighter, deeper, or darker through my eyes than the same colors viewed through the eyes of others. No one really knows how other people see or feel the world, because every person lives their dreams differently.

When I awake from sleeping, I feel as if I was actually there. Physically, I may have never left my bed; however, in those moments of slumber it was reality. For instance, if I am sky diving in my dream I wake up with the feeling of falling in my stomach. Even though I never jumped out of that plane, physiologically my body believes I have, because my mind believes I have.

I sometimes visit the same dream multiple nights in a row. It has the same surroundings; though the small details vary each time. I may see the same white house and blue shutters, with a porch that wraps around. But, instead of being in Elizabethtown, Kentucky I've journeyed to Jesup, Georgia where the scenery is the same, but my heart knows I am somewhere else. I can walk outside and talk to a different person every time the dream occurs. My mind believes what it sees; it is almost like an alternate reality that I revisit. Why? Is this a dream within a dream?

I am the creator of those dreams, because they are taken from my own life experiences or imagined memories. I become a transpersonal being. In fact, I realize my universal self and must accept that my life is nothing more than my own perception of my own reality and it is my responsibility to create the life in which I want to live. As Paulo Coelho said, "I can choose either to be a victim of the world or an adventurer in search of treasure. It's all a question of how I view my life." Life is a dream and death is the awakening from it. The individual belongs to the dream and not to the awakened consciousness; this is why death appears to be total destruction. Death is not to be deemed as a transition into a state entirely new to me, but more of a return from another reality, which I have only had a brief absence.

I need to find rhetorical devices such as:
-Cumulative Sentence
-Periodic Sentence
-Anthimeria
-Antithesis
-Asyndeton
-Polysyndeton
-Anaphora
-Chiasmus
-Allusion
-Epistrophe
-Hyperbole.

Finding any of these would be a great help, Thanks. (:
