Undergraduate / My Community - The Classical Musicians; University of Michigan [2]

Prompt: Everyone belongs to many different communities and/or groups defined by (among other things) shared geography, religion, ethnicity, income, cuisine, interest, race, ideology, or intellectual heritage. Choose one of the communities to which you belong, and describe that community and your place within it.

Let me know what you guys think of this. I know there may be some grammatical errors. I just want to know ways to improve of answering the prompt.

Thanks!

Being apart of the classical music community gives me the ability to be to be apart of something so much bigger than myself. This group has lead me to become an accomplished musician, striving for success in music, but also in a lot of other aspects in my life.

Since classical music is played around the world, it would seem as though it'd be impossible to get personal and get to know this community well. However, it is such a diverse group and I have been able to meet multiple classical musicians from China, Sweden, England, and Mexico, and I am only eighteen. I love being apart of this community because of the people I have met from every corner of the globe.

In the music industry you will be competing against hundreds of musicians, a lot of them being your close friends. To an outsider of this community, you would think that this would ruin relationships and become a blood bath for getting that one opening. What I have found to be true is completely opposite, it doesn't matter what your competing for, or who your competing against, the people love to encourage you and help you with every step. I have already had the opportunity to show my musician friends what to compete in, ways to manage stage fright, and how to be a jaw-dropping performer.

In the classical music world people love to show me the ropes of the industry, and of performing. I then get the chance to spread my knowledge to the generations below me. This has been a cycle on repeat for hundreds of years, and I firmly believe it will never stop.
