Undergraduate / FUTURE CEO (U-M supplement) [2]

Describe the unique qualities that attract you to the specific undergraduate College or School (including preferred admission and dual degree programs) to which you are applying at the University of Michigan. How would that curriculum support your interests?

I leaned back on the leather, executive chair and kicked my feet up onto the glass table as I looked out the large glass windows from the 100th floor. A large electronic billboard flashed my portrait and the words, "VRAJKUMAR PATEL, CEO". I let out a sigh of relief, knowing that I had made it. Then, I woke up. There was no leather executive chair, glass table, billboard, or even a 100 story building in sight. However, there was a chance. I have the motivation and desire to turn my dream into a reality. But what is a buisnessman without the proper experiences and education? That's when I received the best suggestion from my teacher.

"You should look into University of Michigan's business program. I hear it's really great". "Great" was just an understatement for this school. After hours of perusing and researching, I was utterly captivated by what the Ross Business School had to offer. The Ross business school is not only raising efficient business workers, but leaders that will make the our world a better place with the power of influence and social synergy. This realization became apparent to me as I browsed through the different courses offered in the BBA curriculum. Courses like the "Businesses and Leaders: The Positive Difference" and "The Corporation in Society" are two that really interested me due to the fact that businesses and society work hand in hand in order to create a mutualistic relationship. These courses help encourage young leaders to make an impact in their society and teach them this through business practices. What I truly admire about these courses is that they focus on personal growth yet still maintain the importance of being involved in the issues that society faces and working together to adjust to them.

The level of deeper learning is applied through the various challenges that Ross offers such as the Ross Leadership Initiative Crises and Impact challenges to its students. I was captivated when I first heard of these challenges. It was just the right hands on experience that I seeked for, whether it was to be under simulated high pressure business environments or engaging in real life communities. These challenges will allow me to use my leadership skills and constantly enhance them in my interaction with others. The study abroad programs offered by this school sealed the deal for me. Studying abroad and interning in different countries like China and Australia are hands on experiences that I could not miss. These courses and activities will help me in my endeavors of becoming the leader that I plan to be. With the guidance of the Ross Business school, my name will surely flash on the billboards. The title of Chief Executive Officer sounds very attractive. However, the title's power and ability to make a big change in the world sounds much more appealing.
