Undergraduate / Description of my interests and background in science and mathematics (Columbia Univ. Sci. Program) [3]
FEEDBACK
As a freshman in Cardinal Hayes High School, I was always interested in a career that dealt with science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). Therefore, I took my study of Biology and Algebra very seriously. It was during this time that I learned taking Advanced Placement classes would earn me college credit and give me an academic head start into college. I consulted some of my teachers about preparing me for the AP track and I was allowed to take Chemistry in my sophomore year instead of junior year. In taking Chemistry in my sophomore year, I am able to advance into AP Chemistry and Biology quicker than my other classmates. I am also on the Geometry Honors track. I look forward to the Columbia University Science Honors Program because it will assist me in majoring in computer engineering.
