Ans: 1. I want to pursue a degree in Electrical Engineering and I believe Waterloo is the right place for me. As an Electrical Engineer I want to develop new innovative devices which will help everyone in their daily lives. Striving to innovate is in the culture of Waterloo and this culture will help me build new innovative and creative devices and the fact that Blackberry, which is arguably the first smart phone, was founded in Waterloo shows that culture. My goal is to be an engineer for the world by making new, safe and reliable electronics which will make people's lives easier and faster and Waterloo's great co-operative education will contribute to achieve my goal. The co-op program would allow me to apply my academic knowledge in a workplace, open up more doors in the future and help me gather new ideas. Waterloo will help me accomplish my dream of becoming an Electrical Engineer. (891 characters)
Engineering:
Question 1:Engineering Interests and Goals
Briefly explain why you are interested in engineering and particularly in the program to which you have applied.
Ans: 1 From a very young age I was always curious about how things worked like how switches turned on appliances, how my toy car responded to the remote control in my hand, etc. During the start of high school my Physics teacher played a big role in inspiring me to pursue an Engineering degree. He engaged in interactive Physics lessons with me and the Electricity chapter in our syllabus fascinated me the most. He also encouraged me to take part in the school science fair project where my team consisting of 4 people, made a flashlight that used heat energy from the water inside the tube to generate electricity with the hand acting as a switch. All these experiences have led me to pursue a degree in Electrical Engineering. As an Electrical Engineer I want to develop innovative devices that will help everyone, rich and poor alike, and work to make this world a better place to live in. (887 characters)
