Many people think cheap air travel should be encouraged because it gives ordinary people freedom to travel further. However, others think this leads to environmental problems, so air travel should be more expensive in order to discourage people from having it. Discuss the both sides and give your own opinion.
ESSAY:
Nowadays,more and more cheap air travel company come into our sight.Some people think that cheap airline tickets could give ordinary people chances to travel around the world,so it should be encouraged.Others think that cheap air travel is not environmental friendly,so the price of it should be more expensive to prevent the environment .As far as I'm concerned, cheaper price could benefit us,but we should cut down unneeded trip to reduce the chance of air pollution.
We believe that cheap air travel helps us to be more familiar to the world and enjoy our lives .For example,instead of traveling in their homelands,people trend to choose to go abroad to entertain themselves during a short five or six days' holiday because of the international airline's lower price.And during their trips,they will come across diverse cultures,languages,foods and so on.On the one hand, it could improve international communication and so increase culture's merge.On the other hand,people will consume more money in their travels, so that it could stimulate economic growth and even speed up globalization.But if there was no cheap tickets,all things above would not happened.
On the meanwhile,cheap air travel also has some disadvantages.For instance,it may cause more air pollution and waste of fossil fuel for the reason that more and more people will choose to take flight to their destinations,rather taking trains or buses,because taking air plane is cheap ,quick and safe.The higher price could reduce people's willing to travel some far distances.What's more, if we reduce the number of cheaper airline tickets,more people would change to other public transportation facilities,which could reduce the waste of resources and decrease carbon emission.
In my opinion,cheap air travel does more good than harm, and rising up prices is not the only way to protect the earth.There are more wise ways to solve this problem.The government should develop convenient public transportation system and reduce the price of trains and buses to encourage people live a low-carbon lives.Furthermore,we can choose our lifestyles freely,but we need to take environment protection in our minds.
