I need to improve my Korean

Learning languages has always been my hobby since I was in middle school, and Korean is my favorite language due to my interest in Korean culture. I started learning Hangul (Korean alphabet) when I was in the first grade of middle school. I was eager to learn Hangul because I want to be able to read Korean songs lyrics. Entering high school, my curiosity in Korean language increased, so I decided to start learning Korean grammar properly. I bought Korean grammar books and taught myself every weekend. For the listening and speaking, I downloaded an app called 'Hello Talk' where I can find native Korean speakers to have conversations with. In short, I can say that I am already half prepared to study and live in Korea.

However, I still need to improve my Korean in order to meet the requirements for taking a bachelor's degree in Korea. From Monday to Friday, I will review one Korean grammar point and make three sentences out of it everyday. I also will enrich my vocabularies from an app called 'Duolingo'. On Saturday, I will listen to a Korean song and try to write down the lyrics and translate it into English. If done, I will look up for the right lyrics and write it down with the translations. On Sunday, I will review all of the grammar points for the week. At the end of the month, I will do TOPIK past papers I find from the internet to familiarize myself with the TOPIK test. Those are my plans to improve my Korean before I come to Korea.

After coming to Korea, I will focus more on practicing speaking and listening by having daily conversations with people around me, including friends from language institute, neighbors, or sellers in markets. I will also read Korean newspaper and books everyday to add more vocabularies as well as introduce me to unfamiliar sentence patterns. The next thing I will do is posting an article on my website about my life in Korea in Korean and English every month. This will not only help me to practice writing and doing my hobby, but also give others insights into what life in South Korea is like.
