The given line graph illustrates the yearly spending on mobile phone and landline phone services in the USA over a decade from 2001. A cursory glance at the chart is enough to show that the spending of mobile users showed an upward trend as opposed to the steady decrease in residential services consumers.
In the beginning year, that was in 2001, while the customer on fixed-line service reached the highest point at approximately 8700 dollars, the cellular services stayed at 200 dollars, the lowest figure in the whole period.
Regarding the following years, there was a marginal rise in mobile phone consumers which skyrocketed in 2010 with a fourfold jump relative to its initial figure in the beginning year. Meanwhile, the expenditure on landline services dropped steeply to 400 dollars which means it declined by 300 dollars from 2001 to 2010. Furthermore, a significant figure can be incidentally observed in 2006 when two services both hit exactly 500 dollars.
