Scholarship / Erasmus Mundus scholarship- Global market, local creativity SOP [2]

Hi
I am writing SOP for Track D "industry dynamic and sustainability" it aims to answer the following questions in the attached picture. I am pleased to hear any feedback from you guy.

personal statement

Since Thailand is an agriculture based country and many young entrepreneurs started to integrate the agriculture industry to be more than traditional manufacturing or distributing business according to Thailand transformation 4.0 policy. I am inspired from my experience through travel and see some possible ways to improve this industry on other aspects. In Thailand, there are tourism spots with some activities relevant to agriculture, for example rice planting, harvesting, textile dying, were created to attract tourists and generated more income and interest from outsiders than we already have and it could operate all year. So this business started growing around Thailand. This is the agriculture business that I want to take part in.

The reason that I stated the paragraph above is that I am interested in the combination of business, tourism, and agriculture. The purpose of continuing master degree in Global market, Local creativity is to gain a critical thinking in a combination of global and local in order to start the business myself or become an experienced consultant. I personally believe that tourism must not be in domestic only but need to reach people around the world. Subjects in " Industry dynamic and sustainability (Track D) and the partner universities are extremely interesting and perfectly suitable to pursue my purpose. First, I can relate with the subject "family businesses" the most. Since the young entrepreneurs who try to upgrade the agriculture business are the second generation of the family. I did collect some data during my travelling to the northern part of Thailand. I had stopped by the rice field or some attractions that were an agricultural business, most of the operations controlled by sons or daughters of the owner who want to develop their parent's assets to be better and well known. If I gain a key idea or knowledge based on European context about the family business from Track D, it could help bring something to this business. Second, another subject that I am interested in is "International development assistance". Apart from the assistance of the government and private sector in the country. It is advantageous to know that the business could be supported and developed by global organisations. Sources of support and consultation are important to do a business especially when we want to compete or promote the business globally. Third, Only Track D allows students to visit Japan. Since Japan is well known worldwide as a role model of smart agriculture. The way they produce, harvest and sell their product is very unique with their local wisdom. I want to study marketing strategy Japanese people used to locally and globally promote their agriculture business. With these three components, I would like to conduct a thesis about promoting agriculture attraction or spot using digital marketing in Japan. I may study the existence of digital marketing used by Japanese or create some innovations in order to promote the agriculture attraction and bring more domestic or international tourists to the spot or make the spot become well known globally. I aim to find methods, strategies or suggestions that would be able to adapt to other local agriculture businesses who would like to compete themselves up on the international level.

For my personal information, I graduated with a bachelor degree from Chiang Mai university, English major focused on applied linguistics. When I found this scholarship and GLOCAL, I read through the requirement, one of academic backgrounds in order to study in Track D is English and literature degree holder. It raised a question on my mind why it must be English. I did send a question via many social media platforms and the answer was to compliment the course in the best way(from your official instagram account). To be honest, I need to start doing some research to conceive the course better. Then I draw a connection among myself, the track D and the requirements. Here is what I discovered.

English language is beyond a medium for communication. I realized that skills I had gained during my degree were in great demand in every career field. As English students, we gained contextual skill from English language and culture subject , diplomatic skill from essay writing subject, presentation skill from presentation in English subject and discourse analytical skill from discourse in communication subject. I learned basic aspects such as language, location, people, local culture and then expanded to a major or deeper level like global trends, belief or media. The students in class were assigned to write the analytical essay and created oral presentations. I'm familiar with doing research on interesting topics scoped by the teacher, analysing the main idea and supporting details in both descriptive and quantitative ways and presenting the data in oral or artical. I have done the assignment in not only the real world stream but also in the literature field. This indicated that I received a well-interpreting skill from drama, poetry, and narrative course. Therefore, skills in English students that are stated in the requirements would be an asset when I am in various situations. I can interpret messages deeply in regular conversation and I can analyse media both in the form of printed and social tools based on context and culture.

Besides teaching, I am a coordinator of Loei autism parenting club in Loei province. This club is under Thailand Autism foundation. The club is operated by the financial support from a foundation and Department of Security Development and Human Welfare. This foundation aims to take care of autistic people and their gardien to have good welfare. There are autism parenting clubs in every province in Thailand. What the club do are gathering members and creating projects for parent or austistic people themselves to do in order to generate more income and gain more confident to live a life normally. I am responsible for project creation and organisation. Former projects were broom making and selling, basket crafting, item print-screening and berkery training. All material and ingredients are locally found in the province. The result was that some members would like to continue as a full time job and the club sponsored them with equipment and money.I have an opportunity to participate in a meeting of the foundation several times. And I can claim that this is a foundation with a very strong connection, not only in terms of business connection, but also cooperation.

Re - entering the academic world this time is the result of a 7 year discovery of myself. I grew my ability in managing myself and dealing with inner and outer conflict. I did research on everything before I made a decision. This degree is one of my thorough considerations. It is not just a master's degree for a resume. I strongly believe that this course could assist me to achieve my proposal. I want to set a business plan and be a consultant who has a critical skill in a special field, integrated skill to connect the data in hand for any local that needs a useful and realistic innovation for their business.
