Letters / LETTER to express my motivation to apply for the Engineering Technology Bachelor program [2]
Dear Sir / Madam,
I am writing this letter to express my motivation to apply for the Engineering Technology Bachelor program at KU Leuven. I aim to present the reasons for my interest in the field, why I chose this program, why you should consider selecting me, and what I plan to do in the future.
To begin with, my first fascination with technology started when I was around 14 years old. It was the time when I got my first phone, an old-school Nokia button phone. Even Though the technology in it was far too behind at the time when I bought it, the curiosity and the eagerness with which I explored the possibilities given by it remain the same. As I grew older, I got access to newer technologies and began experimenting with them. This leads me to use and analyze products from various fields such as PCs and Smartwatches etc. But I always had one question within me; How could I make it better? What factor of the product needed to be changed? It could be the storage, features, or even the price. But this question was what had driven me and continues to be my purpose till today.
I chose a bachelor's in Engineering Technology at KU Leuven for several reasons. Mainly, because it was a well-ranked university it was placed in the top 100 for computer science, which is the field I want to pursue. But that was just the beginning of my research on KU Leuven. I found out that the course I liked was Engineering Technology, mainly because it covers all the fundamentals and all the fields in technology. This empowers us with the option to choose from various sectors only after we have experienced them during the first year of Bachelors. Moreover, the research-driven education over there is what motivated me to pursue this course. I had always dreamt of my education to be in such a way that I could experience what I am studying currently. This is what I believe KU Leuven offers us with its best-in-class research facilities and labs. Finally, it is one of the least expensive universities across the world making it accessible to many other students like me who could only dream of having such an education.
I believe there are several reasons why I should be selected for this course and what I will be able to contribute to the university. I am a very passionate and hardworking student when it comes to academics. I believe there are several credentials to prove that. At the same time, I am also a very goal-oriented person and often can plan my goals such that they would be practical and doable to my capability. My willingness to grow and break my limits has set me apart from the rest of the students in my class and made me an excellent scholar.
I have a dream for the future. I want to make technology as cost-effective as possible without sacrificing the quality of the product. I want to explore how I could advertise this product without putting that burden on the consumers. One way to do it might be to use social media and other platforms where you could advertise your product for free. This made me choose product management as my final goal, but to achieve that, I feel KU Leuven could enhance me and help me bring more to that field than what there already is.
To conclude I just want to say that it would be an honor to get enrolled in this program that you are offering. I am aware of the hard work it requires, but at the same time, I am also aware of the heights it will lead me to in the future.
