Undergraduate / 'glorious alumna / colleges for women' - Smith college supplement [2]
1 How did you learn about smith and why apply<100
Nancy Reagan and Xide Xie first introduced me to Smith College. As a leader of a women's college, Smith always focuses on fostering girl individual, with its broad range of academic and practical opportunities, which appeals to my interests. Feminism atmospheres are consummately preparing me well for the leadership roles. Actively, I intend to participate in Smith's volunteer programs and organizations, for example The Green team. I hope to join in Smith warm family. And I know I will become a glorious alumna as a leader in my fields in the future. Because Smith sparks the dream in my reality.
2 When Smith was founded in 1871, there were few opportunities for woman education. Is women education still relevant now in 2009?<150
I believe women's colleges are definitely relevant in 2009, and will play more and more important roles in the upcoming centuries. Because a women's school has the unique character that focuses on fostering the females' self-fulfillment, I label women's college as an equal and stimulating community which should be promoted extensively. Women have to acquire more education so that they will have the chance to influence society in their own way. A women's college not only gives a girl the chance to become a Cinderella from a poor family background, but also helps her to enhance the ability to be independent even if she was from a wealthy family which treated her like a spoiled princess. I do hold that the women's college will help us, the women, transforming the world in our way.
