Writing Feedback / Compare and contrast between living in the countryside and the suburbs [3]
I was born in and grew up in a suburb, so I don't have much experience with a life in the countryside. One month ago, I had a long day trip with my mother to her hometown in Thai Binh province. I have found that living in a rural area and living in the suburbs has similarities and differences.
In the countryside and suburbs, the environment is very pure. In the countryside, there are not many factories and enterprises, so the air is not polluted. Moreover, the lesser transportation traffic and more places such as: the rice fields, the large gardens, and green rivers make the rural area become fresh. Nobody can deny that there is the fresh air in countryside. I remember my home in the suburbs, each morning, people walk along the street or go jogging around in the park to breathe the fresh atmosphere. The other similarity is people in countryside and suburb is friendly. They always welcome new comers with a warm smile and I feel comfortable to talk to them a lot. Although they meet me the first time, they always smile with me whenever they see me. People in the countryside are very generous. When they know my mother and I return home, they offered us the gift of meaningful such as: fruit, egg, and many other things. In suburb, people do too.
Despite the similarities, living in the countryside and living in the suburb are very different. Living in the suburb is modern than in the countryside. In the countryside has old feudal buildings and beautiful old trees that shade the street. On the other hand, in the suburb have a lot of villas with modern architecture and gardens with many kinds of valuable bonsai. The people in the countryside also have more traditional ways. Women often wear simple, conservative clothes. A unmarried women often have a long, black hair and they always tie their hair neatly. The married women are always gather their hair into a bun, so I can easily distinguish between a unmarried women and a married women by their hair. In contrast, women in the suburb wear attractive, modern clothes. They always care about their dressing way, hair when they go out or go to the party because they totally have enough condition to go shopping. The other difference is teenagers in the countryside are very shy and reticent. Their parents always forbid their teenage daughters in house. They afraid their daughters meet dangerous in sexual harassment, so they don't allow their daughter free to community with boys. In contrast, many teenagers in suburb are very comfortable when they make friend. Boys and girls can hold hands together; even they can kiss each other in the public. When I see them, I found a difference in the culture between people in the countryside and people in the suburb.
It is interesting to see how people and places at two areas in the same country can be similar and different at the same time. In the countryside and in the suburb are very similar in environment and characteristic, but they are also different in appearance and culture .
