I am truly honored to submit my application for the Managing Art & Cultural Heritage in Global Markets program through the Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters. Over the past two years, my journey in art management has not only shaped my career but has become a profound passion. This program represents an exciting opportunity to build on that passion, and I see it as the perfect fit for my aspirations.

My academic background in Clothing and Textiles from Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda initially led me toward design, but my professional experiences have significantly broadened my perspective. Working closely in art management has allowed me to explore the intersection of design, culture, and heritage. These experiences have fueled a desire to deepen my knowledge in managing art and cultural heritage on a global stage, and the interdisciplinary nature of the MAGMa program is precisely the kind of platform I need to continue growing. This course aligns seamlessly with the practical skills I've gained in design and archival work, while also offering the chance to expand my understanding of the complexities and challenges of art and cultural heritage management in diverse international contexts.

My journey into the field of art and cultural heritage management began two years ago, during my time at Eka Archiving Services. This hands-on experience introduced me to the intricacies of managing art collections, and it sparked a deeper appreciation for cultural heritage, particularly within a national context. Collaborating with a wide range of people from artists and curators to historians and conservationists has taught me that art management goes beyond preservation and exhibition. It's about building bridges between the past and present, connecting historical narratives with today's cultural movements and global conversations.
The program presents an incredible opportunity to link my practical experience with cutting-edge theoretical insights and innovative global practices. I'm particularly excited about the program's focus on developing expertise with a global perspective, something that feels increasingly important in today's interconnected art world. Through this program, I hope to learn how to navigate the evolving relationship between traditional art forms and modern digital technologies, all while fostering meaningful cultural exchanges across borders.

While my undergraduate studies in design gave me a strong foundation in the creative and technical aspects of art, this program will allow me to dive deeper into the complexities of art and cultural heritage management. I'm eager to explore how the international art world operates from market trends to cross-cultural collaborations while continuing to nurture my passion for preserving and promoting heritage through innovative approaches. My background in both design and art management positions me uniquely for this program, where I can bring a blend of creativity, technical skill, and management expertise. Throughout my time at Eka Archiving Services and the National Crafts Museum & Hastakala Academy, I've gained invaluable experience in the intersection of art, cultural heritage, and contemporary trends. This journey has allowed me to see how art is not just a relic of the past but a living, evolving narrative.

My undergraduate studies in design provided a strong foundation in creative thinking and technical tools of design softwares, while my work experience has given me hands-on knowledge of collection management systems both critical for modern art management. I've had the privilege of working with significant cultural collections, and my time as an intern at the National Crafts Museum was particularly impactful. There, I dove deep into the world of Indian textiles, exploring centuries-old traditions. My research even took me to the UNESCO site in Kutch, where I had the opportunity to study traditional textiles and truly grasp the intricate connection between cultural heritage and local craftsmanship.

These experiences have shaped my understanding of how design and art management can not only preserve but also rejuvenate cultural traditions. The program's interdisciplinary approach is exactly what I need to take this perspective to the next level. It will enable me to think critically about how to manage and promote cultural heritage in a global context, particularly as the art world adapts to the challenges and opportunities of the digital age.I am confident that this program will equip me with the tools necessary to contribute to the preservation of cultural heritage, while also pushing boundaries to explore how we can innovate within the field.
