I have seen X grow academically and personally, and I am very pleased to recommend her for the joint master's EMOTION program offered by Erasmus Mundus. I have known her since 2018, when she was a student in my chemistry classes, both theoretical and practical, during her undergraduate studies. I also mentored her personally for her term paper.

Ms. X has shown an interest in chemistry since the day I met her, be it physical, inorganic chemistry or theoretical and practical classes. Her interest was reflected in her grades, which were A++ and O (outstanding) in inorganic and physical chemistry and a distinction in practicals. Ms. X approached me to mentor her in writing a term paper. At the time, I already had a team working on the transesterification of glycerol-to-glycerol esters. She demonstrated excellent teamwork and took it as an opportunity to network by joining the existing team and working on both the current topic and a new one - the conversion of glycerol into glycerol carbonates. Connecting her interest in cosmetics, she suggested incorporating glycerol in cosmetics to make the research more relevant to her interests.

Ms. X's adaptability and enthusiasm for cross-cultural experiences make her particularly well-suited for the EMOTION program, which involves studying in multiple countries. During her undergraduate years, she took the initiative to learn German, demonstrating her openness to embracing new challenges and diverse environments. This cultural awareness, combined with her leadership and mentorship capabilities, sets her apart. Notably, after her graduation, she returned to assist me in mentoring another student on a term paper, showcasing her commitment to sharing knowledge and guiding others.

Additionally, Ms. X's dedication to societal impact is evident through her volunteer work with Headstreams, an NGO, where she encouraged students from government schools to view chemistry as a viable career pathway. Her ability to inspire others while pursuing her own ambitious goals speaks volumes about her character and leadership potential.

Despite limited initial exposure to the cosmetic industry, she has shown resilience and determination to bridge the gap through her academic and professional endeavors. Much like I saw potential in her when I chose to mentor her term paper, I believe the EMOTION program would benefit from her unique perspective and relentless drive. Providing her with a scholarship would empower her to fully realize her potential and contribute meaningfully to the field of cosmetic science.
